Connect to supported servers: FTP, SMB, AFP, WebDav, Box.net, Media Server (UPnP)

BUZZ Player allows you to connect to many servers, computers (Windows, Mac, Linux...) or NASs. Then you can browse server's contents; and download, upload files/folders or streaming documents, videos, audio, pictures... from server to your iPad easily. BUZZ Player supports following servers: FTP, SMB, AFP, WebDav, Media Server (UPnP).

Browse server contents

Connect to a server

To connect to a server:

  1. Tap a server on Connected Servers or Shared Servers list. The Authentication required window will appear if needed. If the server that you want to connect is not in these lists, you may add server address manually to connect. To add the server address manually, please refer to "Connect to Server by Entering Address Manually" section.
  1. Enter Authentication information and turn ON/OFF Remember credentials then tap Connect button to start connect to the server and browse its contents.
  2. NOTE

    • If you don't enter authentication information, it will auto connect to the server with anonymous user and password.
    • If you want to see or change connection information of a server, tap blue disclosure button next to the server.



Close (disconnect) an opening server

To close (disconnect) an opening server

  • Tab Close button beside a server tab to close (disconnect) that server. Note that if the setting General Settings > Ask Me When Closing Tab is ON, an alert will display to confirm when closing server tab.



Connect to Server by Entering Address Manually

To connect to server by entering address manually

  1. On the Connect to Servers screen, tap on Edit button, you will see the Add Server button on the top-left of the screen.
  2. Tap on the Add Server button, choose the server type on the next screen, and enter server information. After entering information, tap on the Add button.
  3. Once you connected to a server, the server information will be saved to "Connected Servers" section. In the next time, you may connect to that server by tap on it.
  4. If error occurs while connecting to server and you cannot resolve it, please refer to Troubleshooting help section:



Manage files/folders from server (Download, Upload, Create folder, Rename, Delete)

  1. To manage files/folders from server, you need to connect to enter edit mode by tap on Edit bar button item (case 1) on the top-right of server file browser or tap and hold a file or folder (case 2).

  2. case 1: Edit mode after tapping on Edit button.

  3. Select action that you want to do on the toolbar (case 1) or on the action sheet (case 2). In case 1, you may select multiple files to deal with.
  4. Follow on on-screen-instruction to complete your action.

Settings relate to Connect to servers

General Settings > Display Unsupported Files:

  1. Open Settings popup window on main screen then select General Settings.
  2. Scroll down the right pane to Appearance Settings section then turn ON/OFF Display Unsupported Files setting.
  3. If this setting is ON, all unsupported files will also be displayed when browsing folder's contents. If this setting is OFF, all unsupported files won't be displayed.

General Settings > Ask Me When Closing Tab:

  1. Open Settings popup window on main screen then select General Settings.
  2. Scroll down the right pane to Unsupported File Types section then turn ON/OFF Ask Me When Closing Tab setting.
  3. If this setting is ON, an alert will display to confirm when you touch close button of a tab. If this setting is OFF, no alert will be displayed.

General Settings > Display Alert When Download:

  1. Open Settings popup window on main screen then select General Settings.
  2. Scroll down the right pane to Download & Connect To Server Settings section then turn ON/OFF Display Alert When Download setting.
  3. If this setting is ON, when starting download a file, the download alert will appear to instruct you how to see the download progress. If this setting is OFF, no alert will appear.

General Settings > Auto-Discover Local Servers:

  1. Open Settings popup window on main screen then select General Settings.
  2. Scroll down the right pane to Download & Connect To Server Settings section then turn ON/OFF Auto-Discover Local Servers setting.
  3. If this setting is ON, the local server list on Connect to Servers tab bar will be automatically loaded when that tab bar opened. If this setting is OFF, you need manually reload local server list.

General Settings > Discoverable Server Types:

  1. Open Settings popup window on main screen then select General Settings.
  2. Scroll down the right pane to Download & Connect To Server Settings section, select Discoverable Server Types setting then choose any Server Types you want discover on local network.
